Resource CAFÉ:  Developed by the Cabarrus Health Alliance’s Innovative Project, the Resource CAFÉ is a good starting point for families of children with special health care needs to get information.


North Carolina Infant Toddler Program:  Be Early! If you have concerns about your child’s development, contact the Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA).  For families in Cabarrus, Iredell, Rowan, Stanly and Union Counties, please call 704-786-9181 for a free screening or evaluation.


Care Coordination for Children (CC4C): CC4C Coordinates care and services for children birth to 5 years old who have or at risk for special health care needs.  For more information, please contact your local health department.  In Cabarrus County, contact the Cabarrus Health Alliance at 704-920-1000.


NC Partnership for Children: Provides services in health, family education and early intervention education for children 0-5 years, to ensure all children enter school healthy and ready to learn.  To find the Partnership for Children in your community, please go to Smart Start and NC Partnership for Children.


Cardinal Innovations Health Care Solutions: Cardinal Innovations is a managed behavioral healthcare organization that serves individuals needing mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services.  If your child has been diagnosed with an intellectual/developmental disability or behavioral or mental health issue, please call 1-800-939-5911 to see if he or she is eligible for services.


Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center (ECAC): ECAC offers assistance with educational concerns.  Parent Educators will help parents navigate the special education maze.  ECAC also offers workshops and other resources for families.  ECAC’s website allows parents to download the Care NOTEBOOK , a tool for organizing your child’s medical records and other healthcare information.
