Who is FSNSP?

Families raising children with special healthcare needs or disability struggle with unique challenges that can be extremely overwhelming to face alone. At Family Support Network of Southern Piedmont (FSNSP), we are committed to providing these families with the support, education, and caring connections they need to give their children the strong support system they deserve.

Meet the Team

Carol Cranford

Carol has over 20 years in the disability field and has served as the Executive Director of FSN of Southern Piedmont since 2011. Parenting a child with a disability has given her knowledge, experience, and passion for working with families of children with special healthcare needs or disabilities. ccranford@fsnsp.org

Kelly Powers

Kelly has served as the NICU Program Coordinator for Project Baby Reach since 2015. She also serves as the Parent Outreach Coordinator for the Innovative Approaches Initiative. Having a daughter with hearing impairment as well as intellectual/developmental disabilities puts her in the unique position of being able to relate with other families. kpowers@fsnsp.org

The FSNNC is made up of 12 regional programs along with the Family Support Program located in the School of Social Work at UNC-Chapel Hill. Our Partners

FSNSP is proud to partner with the Cabarrus Health Alliance on the Innovative Approaches Initiative (IA). This initiative works to improve the service systems for children and youth with special healthcare needs or disabilities from birth to 21-years-old. System improvement work is underway in Cabarrus, Rowan, Union, and Gaston counties, and is made possible through strategic partnerships with medical providers, school systems, community agencies, and — most importantly — parents.
